Joe Hayden began his career in recreation by working as a recreation programmer for Okemos Community Education back in 2004. It was there that he first witnessed how recreation and education are intertwined in the fabric of the community. He went on to become a facility manager, project manager, data and analytics manager, and innovation manager for over 15 years before taking the role of Owner and Senior Advisor in JHC.

Joe received a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology with a Sports Coaching specialization from Michigan State University. He went on to get a Master of Arts in Sports Administration from Central Michigan University before pursuing his Doctoral degree in Urban Educational Leadership at Morgan State University. Joe has a tireless, natural passion for sports, but he has years of industry experience on top of that, allowing him to maintain long-term client connections.

Joe brings considerable experience and a proven track record of strategic marketing, development, and agency-side leadership and diversity.

It is an essential aspect of who Joe is that he tries to affect his business. He dedicates his time to assisting inner-city teenagers during his free time by introducing them to educational, recreational, and physical activities. Additionally, he has held various teaching positions at the Community College of Baltimore County and Towson University in Health and Wellness, sports officiating, first aid/BLS, and student success.
